Description
Thelonious Monk Quartet Misterioso 80s OJC VG++
Cover: VG++.Price sticker on front top left, tiny yellow-ish stain area beside the sticker. Very beginning of dark cover wear indention on top of back sleeve. Other than that, sleeve is nearly perfect. Despite the sleeve reproduction here which reads "High Fidelity"(usually indicating mono), the record definitely plays Stereo.
Disc: VG++. Visually-under bright light, Side 1 has 3-4 small pressing spots at the very first song (:Nutty") and an odd blemish(about 1/2 an inch)at the beginning of the 2nd song ("Blues Five Spot"),otherwise-no marks & very glossy. Side 2 has the faintest 1/2 inch pressing blemish at the beginning of first cut ("In Walked Bud") and maybe a ghostly surface mark upon close inspection. That said, both sides of the disc viewed under normal light appears without flaw.
Audio: VG++.There are 3 instances of very quick (less than a second in duration, but audible on a scale of about 3 out of 10 -with 10 being the worst) static/crackle spread across the 2 sides.
They are:
Side 1: Quick bit of static near the beginning of the opening track "Nutty" as the final opening theme is played by the sax (left channel only). The last 30 seconds of "Nutty" have 4 very brief crackles in right channel only. Reasonably spread out in intervals.
Side 2 : The intro of "In Walked Bud" has a one-time quick low-level static bit in left channel only. Plus there is one tick(non-repeating) during the drum solo of "In Walked Bud".
Other than those bits mentioned, from the first needledrop at beginning of Side 1 all the way through to the end of Side 2,the disc is nearly as noise-free as a CD.
Also comes with the 80's Fantasy customer questionnaire card. No obi strip.
