Description
Original 1956 first pressing of The Unique Thelonious Monk on Riverside RLP 12-209, with the white label, deep groove, and “Bill Grauer Productions” credit — the true first mono issue.
The record has heavy surface wear and plays with frequent pops, crackles, and surface noise, but it plays through both sides without skipping. Graded Fair. The cover is Good with a partial seam split on the bottom, edge wear, discoloration, and writing on both front and back (see photos).
Despite its flaws, this copy is a scarce first edition of a cornerstone Monk album — hard to find in any condition.
Will ship with record outside the jacket to prevent further wear.
Stored in a poly sleeve and packaged securely.
