Original issue, deep groove with 767 Lexington Ave NYC address on both label; same address at the bottom of the back cover. Flat edge. The record has the "ear" and "RVG"inscribed in the dead wax. Entitled: "Genius Of Modern Music". 12 tracks includes 1 tune previously unissued on L.P. and 1 tune previously unissued. Monk, piano on all tracks. 2 tracks also include George Taitt, trumpet; Sahib Shihab, alto sax; Robert Paige, bass; Art Blakey, drums. 5 tracks also include Gene Ramey, bass; Blakey, drums. 3 tracks also include Milt Jackson, vibes; John Simmons, bass;Shadow Wilson, drums. 2 tracks also include Idreese Suliman, trumpet; Danny Quebec West, alto sax; Billy Smith, tenor sax; Ramey, bass; Blakey, drums. Very rare edition.
Cover: VG++ Intact. A few very light red markings next to 3 tunes in the tune schedule and encircling 2 sets of tunes in the tune schedule. The coloration is barely noticeable. Light aging along the spine on the front cover and very light aging on the back cove. Fine, overall condition.
Record: VG+ or Better Visually shows no wear. There are 4 or 5 short, light , surface rub marks. On Side 1 there are a few light clicks on the first few revolutions with a few light clicks at the end of Track 1. 1 or 2 faint clicks at the end of Track 2; 1 click on Track 4 with 2 or 3 isolated revolutions of barely audible groove noise on the balance of Side 1. On Side 2 there are 4 isolated clicks on Track 1 and 4 light consecutive clicks on Track 2. 2 clicks at the beginning of Track 3 and 2 very light clicks about mid-track. Light groove noise on the last revolution of Track 3. 6 very light clicks mid-track on Track 4 and slight groove noise on the first 2 or 3 revolutions on Track 5. This is barely audible. Also, slight groove noise on 2 revolutions on Track 5, also, barely audible. Moderately heavy vinyl pressing. Overall, fine quality with the slight flaws detailed
