Description
Mega rare original LP of Thelonious Monk at the Blackhawk (Riverside 1171 - stereo) Original black Bill Grauer Productions Inc New York City labels with reel and mic logo and deep groove rings on both sides - NOT a current re-issue! Essential Monk LP features Monk along with Joe Gordon, Harold Land, Charlie Rouse John Ore and Billy Higgins in an acknowledged classic that no serious jazz collector can be without.
The LP is in strong VG++/ Near Mint condition with minimal light marks (hardly worth reporting) and with most if not all of the original shine - not quite for the audiophile, but still in really nice condition. The cover is in VG/ VG+ condition with some general age/shelf wear and heavy use of clear tape (old) on the top seam - see the photos. There is also clear tape on teh bottom seam and a name written twice on the back liners. A strong copy of a rare LP in a less than perfect cover.
The LP will be carefully packed using professional materials (over twenty years experience safely selling jazz LPs around the world).
