Description
This is the original deep-groove RVG-etched “P”-pressing of Thelonious Monk “Genius of Modern Music, Volume 1” on the Lexington Avenue labels of Blue Note BLP 1510. The flat rim playing surface is in very close to new condition; however, Side 2 has a small lightly audible scratch at the center of Track 2, and what appears to be a small pressing defect at the beginning of Track 3 that is lightly audible for five revolutions; otherwise, the record has an amazing luster; perhaps played once. The original frame Lexington Avenue cover is bright and clean throughout with just ¾” wear at the opening of the bottom seam.
