Description
This is the original deep-groove pressing of Thelonious Monk “Plays Duke Ellington” on the white reel-logo labels of Riverside RLP 12-201. The flat-rim playing surface has just two light inaudible handling marks on the first track of Side 1 but is otherwise in beautiful condition, with a high luster; perhaps played once or twice. The non-laminated cover, with the 418 West 49th Street address, is bright and clean throughout; the top seams appears to have been neatly repaired from a split; the spine has only a tiny chip at the top and bottom; the bottom seam shows some rubbing.
