Thelonius Monk, Blue Note 78 rpm, #1589 "Straight No Chase b/w Four In One"
Incredibly rare, but even better, it's in incredibly fantastic condition!
My Linn LP-12 is only a 2-speed, so i have to resort to playing 78's on a crappy , albeit new, portable record player w/ built-in speakers.
It has backround hum when it powers on, and the needle is not much better than a tin can on a string, but even so, the sound quality of this 65 year old record is fantastic!
The vibes are bright, the piano is powerful, and you can just feel the snare brushes as they pull back from the rim!
No cracks or chips, not a re-issue. As shown, it looks as good as it sounds!
