Description

Up for bid is a one of a kind item - an LP containing an autograph of not one but TWO jazz legends - Thelonius Monk and Sonny Rollins. Before I get to the description, I would like to say that we do not have a COA with this item. The collection that this is from leaves no doubt in my mind that these are authentic. I have compared these to other autographed items on the internet, and they do match. Now - on with the description!

TITLE - Work!

LABEL - Prestige (PRLP 7169)

INTERIOR LP LABELS - BERGENFIELD NEW JERSEY Address,  Deep Grooves on either side on Interior labels,  RVG etched in matrix area, Mono, interior labels are extremely clean.

NOTE - Not only is the LP in beautiful condition, check the pictures of the back of the jacket - this has been AUTOGRAPHED by Thelonius Monk AND Sonny Rollins! Includes Prestige interior booklet, with no tears or creases (see pictures).

CONDITION - LP is VG++, with several faint scuffs on each side. There is a tiny light scratch in the middle of song 2 on side B (Friday the 13th). LP plays with some surface noise (intermittent crackle, tics, and a couple of light pops). Surface noise may be greatly reduced with a professional cleaning. LP is very clean and retains a nice gloss. Jacket is a solid VG+, with two very small seam splits. One is on the top seam, staring at the mouth of the jacket and travels toward the spine about 1/4 inch. The other is at the intersection of the spine and the top seam. There is light ring wear on the front and back. There is some discoloration on the back of the jacket. There is light wear on the bottom seam. There is wear on all corners. The color on the front is still bright and the front retains a nice gloss.
