Description
This auction is for an original first pressing of The Small Faces 1970 album There Are But Four Small Faces on Immediate Records (Z12 52 002) with the original pink label. While this album is opened, it is still covered in its original shrinkwrap, keeping the cover in NM condition. The original sleeve is included, along with a near mint copy of the original vinyl. This is NOT a reissue, cut-out, or later pressing. Most copies that you find nowadays have the cut-out marks from being a deleted LP. Not this one! This is a Near Mint copy of the original 1st pressing!

The Cover:
The cover appears nearly brand new. The shrinkwrap has kept the colors looking very bright, shiny and new looking for all of these years. No signs of fading, as this album has been kept out of any sort of light source for the past 42 years. The cover has retained its glossy sheen, and the colors are still as vibrant as they were at the time of its retail purchase over 4 decades ago. There is absolutely no ringwear, rips, tears, or creases, and this is not a deletion cut-out. All of the edges are completely straight with sharp corners. The seams are all absolutely perfect with no signs of anything happening to them anytime soon with proper care. This record by all means looks brand new, and just a quick glance would make you think you were seeing a reissue, due to the shiny newness. I can't stress this enough: This LP looks as new as the day it was purchased in 1967!
The Sleeve:
Still has the original white inner sleeve manufactured by Immediate Records and this sleeve is near perfect other than a few creases here and there.
The Vinyl:
This record has hardly ever been played, and it truly shows. The worst you will find are the common hairlines that almost every record gets over time by being moved around within its paper sleeve. Many sealed records can even obtain these hairlines. The good news is that these are barely visible, barring close examination directly under a very strong light, and even better is that they won't affect playback. They are extremely superficial, and better yet, there are very few of them to begin with. This record is going to play exactly as if it were just purchased in 1967, especially on higher end equipment. There is no groovewear at all, considering it has almost never been played. This means no distortion that can be caused by constant, or even sometimes casual play. The labels are crisp with no defects.
There is absolutely no spindlewear either, meaning it will fit tightly and securely on your turntable. The copy of this record is most likely the best sounding one you'll ever find, as most copies are sure to have been played more than a few times. You'll most likely be playing this record for the 4th or 5th time ever! Not bad for a record over 4 decades old!
The Contents:
There are many better places to look for a review of this album, and I'm certain that if you're still reading this, you know exactly what is included. This was basically a compilation of singles and album tracks from the Faces' most recent self titled UK album, all designed for the American market. It is a fairly definitive collection of this particular era in the Small Faces history.

Any Small Faces collector would be quite pleased to own a copy of this original pressing in such great condition. If you don't own a copy at all, then you really can't go wrong here. US fans can relive the way we were introduced to this amazing band, and UK fans can see what fans in the States got to hear for our first Faces experience. Either way, unless you somehow come across a sealed copy of this album, you'd be hard pressed to do better than this copy right here. Have fun bidding!
