On June 9th, 2016, Third Man Records was humbled to welcome Pearl Jam for a performance in our Nashville Blue Room live venue. Kept secret until the absolute last moment, the crowd of only 250 included lucky Ten Club members, mayors, NBA superstars, country music royalty, and possibly even a few stowaways. To call it a "warm-up” for their headlining set at Bonnaroo two nights later would be to vastly undervalue the evening. The band tore through a clutch collection of songs that spanned both deep cuts and fan favorites. A classic like “Deep” from Ten sits comfortably next to “Life Wasted”from their self-titled album Pearl Jam, and set-closer “Let Me Sleep” was originally recorded in 1990 (and was the band’s first-ever Ten Club release). The highlight of the performance came when Pearl Jam invited Jack White and his guitar to the stage to join on a song that clocked in at over seven minutes and featured wild dueling solos between White and Mike McCready, this epic performance left every mouth in the audience agape and every face on stage all smiles. Those seven minutes were truly some of the most memorable and historic in seven years since the Blue Room opened its doors.
All this said, it should come as no surprise that this performance is the centerpiece of Third Man’s 29th Vault package: a black-and-gold, split-colored vinyl version of Pearl Jam’s set, recorded live direct-to-acetate and packaged in a stunning custom jacket, all soft touch coating and gilded gold metallic ink. While split-colors are normally only made available to attendees of the show, the opportunity to share this once-in-a-lifetime performance with the wide-reaching TMR and PJ world’s was too good to pass up.
The following afternoon Eddie Vedder entered Third Man Records’ Voice-o-Graph recording booth and performed an arresting, solo acoustic song. Housed in a custom TMR Record Booth sleeve and pressed on clear transparent vinyl (just like the original) this disc captures a poignant moment for Vedder, and marks the event of yet another musical legend making exceptional use of the Third Man Recording Booth.
Third Man’s accomplished in-house photographer Jamie Goodsell documented the entirety of the evening’s events on his trusty SLR camera. These images have been compiled into a timeless photo book. This embossed, fabric-wrapped, 9” x 6” hardcover photo collection gives the viewer the ability to look behind the curtain, both into Pearl Jam and Third Man's worlds on a special night for both parties.
Rounding out Vault Package #29 are a 1” round metal lapel pin utilizing the custom Pearl Jam/Third Man mashup logo (printed onto silk-screened posters and complimentary beer koozies used that fateful night) in addition to a 3” circular patch of the same design, featuring gold thread and just begging to be sewn onto your motorcycle leather, denim vest, varsity jacket, backpack, wedding gown, pillowcase, coffin lining, underwear, etc, etc...
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING RULES OF THE AUCTION. THEY ARE NOTED DUE TO RECENT PROBLEMS WITH BUYERS. I KNOW IT IS A LOT, BUT HOPEFULLY IT WILL ALLEVIATE ANY PROBLEMS LATER. IF YOU REFUSE TO READ OR FOLLOW THE AUCTION RULES, YOU HAVE NO ONE TO BLAME BUT YOURSELF:
The seller sets the rules for the auction, not the buyer. All of these rules that follow are well within the Ebay guidelines.
1) Payment is due within 4 days of auction end. If payment not made, an unpaid item case will be filed with Ebay.
2) Feedback given once buyer gives feedback first. If intent on leaving negative feedback or not happy with item, email me first.
3) With records becoming more popular in the last few years and pressing plants working many hours to meet demand, it is literally impossible to check the condition of every single record thoroughly. Not all records will come out entirely flat; there may be a slight rise and fall to them. Keep in mind, THEY ARE NOT "WARPED"! A warped record means it may sound a little distorted or be unplayable. THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS GIVEN UNLESS THE RECORD SOLD FALLS INTO THIS LAST STATEMENT. So if you need that absolutely pristine record that is perfectly flat, this may not be the auction for you.
4) Before you bid on an item, consider shipping costs, handling time, and other shipping services. Review the item description carefully. If you have any questions about shipping or anything else, contact the seller beforehand, NOT AFTER THE SALE!
5) International Buyers: Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying. (Overseas buyers are responsible for any final fees due to importation, not the seller! I will also not alter shipping label in any way to lessen costs. This is shipping fraud. Anyone asking me to do so will be reported by me to eBay immediately).
6) International Buyers: If you can not interpret the rules of this auction due to a language barrier, you may want to have someone who understands English explain it to you. It's not my problem/responsibility if you don't understand. By bidding you are expressing to me you understand and are taking responsibility for your actions.
7) You must pay for any item you commit to buying. Each bid you make is a binding contract to buy the item you win. The same is true for Buy It Now purchases. Not paying for an item after you agree to buy it has negative consequences, explained in Ebay's Unpaid Item Policy.
8) Shipping options (ex: Media, Priority) specified in the listing will be the only one(s) offered, no substitutions. Demanding a change to the shipping method or delivery location, other than those specified in the listing is a violation of Ebay policy. (Any buyer asking me to change to a shipping method not listed in the auction will be reported to eBay by me immediately-this goes especially for non U.S. buyers! Exception to the rule is if buyer requests a faster method of shipping and to pays the extra cost).
9) You may ask whether the seller will combine shipping for multiple purchases (invoice will be sent to buyer for updated shipping costs within reason). 10) You may ask the seller if it's acceptable if your payment is briefly delayed due to exceptional circumstances.
11) Delivery confirmation should be supplied through ebay once it's shipped. Buyer is responsible for tracking package. If package listed as delivered and buyer never received it, contact your local Post Office. Also, seller is not responsible if item is delivered and buyer did not make arrangements to secure item (ex: away on business, vacation, etc.).
12) Sealed records may be shipped outside jacket to avoid seam splits upon request after buyer makes purchase. Seller not responsible for any audio defects on sealed/unplayed items.
13) Records/sleeves graded "Near Mint" means there are minor imperfections (ex: minor corner dings, creases, splits, etc.), i.e. not a perfect copy.
14) LP records are shipped in standard LP mailers and packed securely. If for some reason you want extra secure packing (ie double boxing), it will cost extra. Wait for updated invoice before paying (If you receive record and the are dings or creases on jacket or ripped sleeves, double boxing might be a good idea. I won't be held responsible for damage and there be no compensation. Blame the U.S. Post Office).
15) If you receive a sealed item and for some reason it's not the same color as described in the listing, let me know and I will try to replace it or give you a refund. However, if you ask for a refund/return and once I receive the item it's actually the color described in the listing, there will be NO REFUND in return shipping eitherway. Not my problem if you might be incompetent or colorblind.
16) Finally, if a winning bidder: -Does not want it after it is paid for and demands their money refunded, -Mistakenly bid on or claims someone else did and does not want item (exception: bid retraction before auction end. If you can't figure out how to remedy situation, refer to eBay policies), -Is not able to redeem a gift card or coupon, -Claims they somehow received same item from an outside source, or -Purchased item in hand/pre-sale item and found it cheaper or from another source before it shipped to them from Ebay seller (if item is delayed beyond stated time of arrival, I have no problem offering a refund), be advised, YOU WILL NOT BE EXCUSED OR REFUNDED! ALL SALES ARE FINAL IN THESE SITUATIONS! I DO MY UTMOST TO BE A FAIR AND RESPONSIBLE SELLER; ITS ONLY FAIR FOR YOU TO BE A RESPONSIBLE BUYER
