Rare: Thirsty Moon Self Titled Lp (Original German Gatefold Brain Label Press, 1972)

Here's the first album by Thirsty Moon- a great German progressive group from the early 70s, and nearly impossible to find these days. Their first 3 Lps are all interesting (all of which came out on Brain)- but I find this one the best- especially the 20 minute+ track 'Yellow sunshine'.

Band members were- Norbert Drogies- drums, perc; Michael Kobs- electric piano; Erwin Noack- Congas, perc; Willi Pape- soprano sax, tenor sax, clarinet, flute, perc; Harald Konietzko- bass, 12 string guitar, perc, vocal; Jurgen Drogies- guitar, perc; Hans Werner Ranwig- Organ, perc, vocal.

While you may have noted this cover is not in great condition- the vinyl sounds great! (detailed grading below)

Great album for fans of this era!

CONDITION (see descriptions below) EX-/VG++++ (The only issue visually with this vinyl, is what seems to be either thin residue- or wear from the paper sleeve. Can't work it out, as they're not normal scuffs- maybe there's a solvent I don't know about that would get it off??? Anyway- playing performance is EXCELLENT)

Cover- see pictures. All intact, no splits or tears, but there is some wear around edges, and some staining on the lower right hand corner, that carries through to rear- minor moisture damage at some stage. Laminate is starting to wear on the corner along opening, but is not coming off yet. Pictures probably show all of this better than I can explain- it is definitely not in bad condition or unsightly- just has definite wear in some places.

It is worth noting that postage may work out cheaper if you are buying mutliple items- I work out all combined postage by weight, not on a per item basis. That way you have the best chance to get a good deal on postage rates, wherever you live. I have a huge list of other interesting titles currently on ebay so check them out at "sellers other items" - you may be suprised what you'll find!!!! US Buyers note that all packages over 480gms are subject to the $9 US customs tax.(this will not apply to a single LP)

HANDLING PERIOD: I always do my best to post within 24 hrs of receiving payment, but because I live in a rural area, this cannot always be possible. If there is some reason preventing my usual fast postage regime, I will notify you.

Grading/ condition descriptions.

ABOUT THIS GRADING SCALE: it is meant to reflect both the appearance and sound quality of the LP in question. If I ever have doubts re. grading, I play test the item in question. I endeavour to keep my vinyl clean, and so an LP rated EX, for instance, should play that way without you having to clean it first! I try to be careful and tough with my grading (as I hate it when I buy LPs online that don't meet what I think these grades are!), but if you are not satisfied for any reason- please contact me!

Those of you that are perfectionists should not be disappointed with anything in the scales between MINT and EXCELLENT, but if the item is below that rating, please read the descriptions carefully! 

I occasionally use a + or - to show if the LP is on the high or low side of that grade. That does not mean, however, that an EX-, for instance, is the same as VG+.

MINT: new/ unplayed. I only give this grading if I can verify that it is unused. LPS that look flawless, without that verification will be MINT-

NEAR MINT Very minor flaws/ very few fine lines or imperfections. In general- will look& sound great

EXCELLENT Minor flaws/ wear such as fine lines, fine scuffs, or minor scratches that will have a minimal impact on play response.  Sound quality should be great!

VERY GOOD Will have flaws such as scuffs, scratches, wear or other marks, but these will not be significant enough for the record to play badly. In fact, typically an LP with this grading will play and sound fine- no probs for those of you who like to listen to your vinyl; just not recommended for those of you that are perfectionists. Take note of any additional comments I might make with items of this grade- especially if they are below the VG+ level. They will usually be scuffier below this level.

GOOD An LP with this grading will have significant scratches, scuffs or other wear. I only will list items with this grading if obscure or of significant interest, and in this case I will play test it and give a detailed response to how well it plays in the general item description above. Usually an LP with this grading will play OK, but could have louder crackles, and/or clicks; depending on variablility between turntables there could be tracking issues too.

About ME: My husband and I are both collectors of music, books, tapes, CDs and other interesting retro items, and usually only sell when we have stockpiled enough stuff we are no longer interested in, to make it viable. Usually we are just happy buying rather than selling!!
