For sale is a fantastic vintage collection of Time-Life Records box sets featuring highlights and selections from Richard Wagner’s monumental opera cycle Der Ring des Nibelungen (The Ring of the Nibelung), drawn from the legendary Georg Solti recording with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra (the first complete studio Ring, widely hailed as one of the greatest classical recordings ever made).

This lot includes three separate 6-LP box sets (approximately 18 vinyl LPs total), from the early 1970s Time-Life series:

1. Introduction to the Operas and Das Rheingold (Black box with dramatic stage scene cover featuring armored figures and spears) – STL-441 or similar catalog. Includes an introductory overview/narration of the entire Ring cycle plus substantial portions or key scenes from Das Rheingold (The Rhinegold), the prelude to the tetralogy.

2. Die Walküre (Green box with epic warrior procession cover, soldiers with spears) – Features key excerpts or condensed highlights from Die Walküre (The Valkyrie), including famous moments like the Ride of the Valkyries.

3. Götterdämmerung (Maroon/red box with fiery apocalyptic scene and dramatic figures) – Covers selections from Götterdämmerung (Twilight of the Gods), the epic conclusion, with standout performances by stars like Birgit Nilsson.
