Description

Hello record collectors and vinyl junkies, I'm in the process of selling off the majority of my record collection to finance the ongoing restoration of a classic car...hopefully without going bankrupt! So please check back often, as I'll be listing hundreds of LPs over the next few months.

Anyway, let's continue with this one titled Dimensions 72 - Musical Highlights of the Timken Company's 1972 Marketing Conference at the Greenbrier released by The Jan Handy Organization in 1972. (3028 Stereo)

The Timken Company produces transmissions and parts including bearings and more. This LP was given to employees who attended their 1972 corporate meetings.

This LP is featured on page 243 of the book Everything's Coming Up Profits - The Golden Age Of Industrial Musicals by Steve Young and Sport Murphy. They gave it a rarity ranking of 1 which in their words is: Only one or two copies known - good luck finding one in this lifetime.

From the liner notes:

In the fall of 1972, at The Deauville Casino in Deauville, France and at the Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, Timken Company marketing people from around the world gathered to discuss the new opportunities and future marketing plans in bearings, steel and rock bits.

Some of the major ideas and themes of the meeting were explored not only in executive presentations, and in dramatic sketches, but in highly untraditional fashion... in specially written musical production numbers.

Those musical numbers are in this album. They capture for all time the feeling of excitement and challenge that prevailed during the 1972 Marketing Conferences.

This Music is a new dimension for the Timken Company. We believe it effectively communicates the Company's Spirit of the '70's.

This LP contains the following tracks:

  1. We Want To Get The Facts
  2. New World Opening Up
  3. Proper Planning
  4. Timken's The Name
  5. Flexibility
  6. The Metric System
  7. People Make The Difference
  8. The Timken Company

The LP has one light mark that is visible under a bright spotlight but does not effect play. The cover has no seam splits, cut out marks, writing, rips, tears or other problems.

Please feel free to email with any questions.

The fine print:

Payment is due within three days after end of the auction. I only accept payment through Paypal - if you do not have a Paypal account, please email me BEFORE bidding to inquire about alternative payment methods.

Domestic shipping is by Media Mail, which can take up to two weeks to arrive. Priority Mail is available for an additional cost if requested.

I do combine shipping for multiple purchases. The $4.00 covers between one and two albums. Additional albums (three and up) are an additional .50 cents each. Please wait for an invoice from me as the Paypal system does not calculate the combined shipping.

Overseas shipping is by Air Mail only. Shipping for one LP to Canada is $15.50 and everywhere else in the world is $23.00. Overseas shipping is by regular air mail and can take anywhere from one to four weeks to arrive. I do combine shipping on overseas purchases - I will send an invoice with the combined shipping cost if you purchase more than one LP.

Sorry I no longer ship to Italy or the Russian Federation due to the high number of "lost" packages.

All records are mailed in cardboard record mailers with cardboard inserts to prevent damage. LP will be removed from the cover to prevent seam splits while in transit.

Thanks for looking and good luck!
