Tir Na Nog, Tir Na Nog. This is the original UK Stereo Issue of their first album released in May 1971. The E. J. Day Group front laminated Gatefold Cover is in EX Condition, the blue Island inner is in VG+ Condition And the Vinyl is in EX Condition. With great tracks From Tir Na Nog including; 'Daisy Lady & Dance Of Years'. Description
Original UK Chrysalis label stereo 1st press.Tir Na Nog were Sonny Condell & Leo O'Kelly who met in Dublin in 1969 and moved to London to play the folk circuit. They were signed by Chrysalis/Island in 1970, partly through the support of John Peel and recorded their first album. They continued to tour and play, supporting Jethro Tull and others, releasing three albums of Celtic & Eastern influenced accoustic folk music, the first being Tir Na Nog. They originally broke up in 1974, pursuing solo careers, but reformed in 1985 and are still playing!
This is the very original issue with the green Chrysalis labels with the white i Island symbol, the A-1U/B-1U matrices and the early 1-R & 1-O stampers of the first pressings!
The E. J. Day Group front laminated gatefold sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some light corner/edge wear and some light laminate rubbing & creasing on the outer cover, but there are a couple of small scuffs on the inner cover. The spine is intact and fully readable, the blue Island company inner is intact, but yellowed & in VG+ condition. The record is in visually EX condition, with only a couple of faint sleeve removal hairlines and one or two small needle marks/scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX condition, clean & bright with evidence of a couple of spindle markings on each side. The sound reproduction is EX, still clear & precise throughout with definately no loud pops or hiss and no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some low background noise during the run in grooves. Overall, a really great, loud and lively listen. The matrix nos. are; ILPS-9153, A-1U stamper 1-R, B-1U stamper 1-O. This is one of the very early pressings of the original 1971 UK stereo 1st issue of this album!
