To Bird With Love--Chan Parker and Francis Paudras published by Editions WIZLOV Poitiers France 1981
This 400+ page hardbound book app 15x 10 1/2 inches is a tribute to the life and music of Charlie Parker. It was written by the late Francis Paudras and Chan Parker, wife of Charlie Parker. It includes many black and white photos of Bird, most reproduced on full pages, as well as photos other musicians, letters, telegrams, family and Bird related locations. The book is a deluxe, quality production, printed on high quality paper and the photos are nicely reproduced. The text is in French and English and mostly comments on the photos, sometimes in a poetic way.
The book is in M- shape. The cover is unworn, the binding is tight and there are no dog eared pages. The pages are bright, glossy, unfaded and unyellowed. There is no writing or torn pages. There is a tiny app 1/8 inch of denting damage, noticeable upon close inspection, on the spine and a similar one nearby on the back cover. The book looks unread and well cared for and is a very nice copy. The book comes in a printed box. The top section of the box has split seams top and bottom at the left and some heavy to moderate wear at these corners. Rest is still glossy with light wear. The bottom section of the box has a split seam at top left and a spot of wear at bottom left corner. The rest is still glossy and bright with light wear.
The book weighs in excess of 5 lbs and it will probably cost more than the standard $4 media rate to ship, based on location.. WINNING BIDDER SHOULD WAIT FOR AN INVOICE WITH CORRECT SHIPPING COST.
