Todd Rundgren is nothing short of a genius. This is his solo album from 1972 the double Something Anything which has a bit of everything on it. One of the great albums by anyone. As is A Wizard and a True Star which I was lucky enough to see him do live at Hammersmith Odeon in 2010. Todd will have you thinking hard one minute with his complexities and have you crying the next with the simplicity and beauty of his song writing. Also here is the 1983 album Oblivion from his side project Utopia who are also worth following up on if you are a fan of the boy Todd. One of the greats without doubt. Probably a close run thing with Neal Morse for my favourite American artist.
