Tom Scott with The California Dreamers - The Honeysuckle Breeze LP (Impulse! Records A-9163 Stereo)
Very rare and desirable original, heavy vinyl pressing of this 1967 funk/jazz LP in a thick gatefold cover. This first pressing has black and orange Impulse! labels. (A second issue came out a couple of years later and had a black label with the red ring.)
Includes sax and bass samples, as well as breaks used by Pete Rock, Slick Rick, Black Sheep, among many others.
Cover: VG+. Very shiny with almost no surface wear, but has very small cut-out punch hole on the upper-left corner and some separation of the lamination as the front cover bends toward the spine. Also has two small instances of flaking on the spine and a thin, 2-1/2" seam split on the lower edge of the back cover.
Record: NM-. A few light, light marks, barely visible under a bright light. Glossy and impressive!
Grading Details
NM, Perfect. Looks like you just took off the shrink. Close visual inspection shows no real problems.
NM-, Meticulously taken care of, but not quite perfect. Has a slight problem or two only seen under close scrutiny.
VG+, Noticeable wear but nothing too major or distracting.
VG, More overall wear than a VG+, or possibly one larger problem.
VG-, Noticeably worn out.
I don't sell anything lower than VG-. I worked in a record store for years, and I know how to grade vinyl!
