Description
Awesome lot of three records by the legendary Tom Waits.
Before I describe any of the details, let me just say:
ALL FOUR VINYLS ARE MINT-NEAR MINT CONDITION.
Now the details:
Nighthawks at the Diner:
-Vinyl: Near mint condition Over the two records, I found two very light scuffs. I could only see these if I'm looking at the record close and from an angle. In other words, these 2 records are as close to mint as it gets without being mint.
-Cover: As you can see, there is the beginning of 'circling' on the front and the back. It's light. But the corners of the cover are sharp, the colors are bright the inside looks great. No tears or anything.
-Sleeves: Sleeves are white and in good condition. These are original sleeves.
Blue Valentine:
First, let me say there is a little water damage here. And I will be as specific as possible throughout.
-Vinyl: The vinyl is in near mint condition. Labels look good.
-Cover: Front looks great, especially in the plastic I had it in. But with closer look, there is some water damage near the bottom of it and a slight warp. It's all below Tom Waits' elbows, so it's hard to see, but there. The inside, as you can see, there are some white spots from the moisture (the big one is the flash from my camera!). The back, as you can see there are some white areas near the bottom third
-Sleeve-Sleeve is a neutral white. There is water damage, but the sleeve can easily be replaced.
Heartattack and Vine:
First, let me say there is a little water damage here. And I will be as specific as possible throughout.
-Vinyl: The vinyl is in near mint condition. Labels are good and there are one or two light scuffs. Like all the other vinyls, it's very close to mint.
-Cover: Front looks great, especially in the plastic I had it in. There is no visible water damage in the front, but you can feel a slight warp. The back...from an angle you can see a little water damage near the bottom, but it's hardly noticeable. There is a little white spot near the lower right. AND PLEASE NOTE, this cover is already meant to look abused....the wine stains on the front aren't real, and those many little white spots on the back aren't real either.
-Sleeve-It's a branded sleeve resembling the cover. It's strong, but there is some rippling on it (like a piece of paper that was once wet, but is now dry.)
Conclusion:
What you have are 4 vinyls in great, great, great condition. You have 3 covers in various condition. But I can say that from owning BlueV and HeartV the last 3 or 4 years, the front covers are really in good condition and, if you keep your records in plastic like I do, you don't really even notice the water damage.
To be clear, Nighthawks has no water damage whatsoever..
