Tom Waits - Closing Time LP Asylum 1970's pressing sharp looking cover

COVER: EXC
RECORD: VG+
NOTES: Based on the label design, this appears to be 2nd pressing from 1975 or so. The black cover is unusually clean and sharp looking - none of that usual ringwear. The record is a visual EXC but plays with a bit more surface noise than I would like for that grade, so I downgraded it to VG+.
GRADES: SEALED, NM, EXC, VG+, VG, VG-, G, FAIR, POOR.
I grade strictly under bright light. My highest grade for an unsealed record is NM (NEAR MINT) - a record must look like new to be graded NM! An EXC record will show only slight signs of prior play. A VG+ is a solid used record that should play well but has minor visual flaws. A VG has more obvious flaws BUT is not trashed. Records graded VG- or worse will often play much better than they look.
