Every collector's dream - all recordings issued in a single package.  No need to scour the record store bins (assuming you can even find a record store these days), search dark alleys in the shady part of town, or deal with less than scrupulous characters on Craig's list.  I already did the heavy lifting for you so all you have to do is sit back and enjoy.
The songs are presented here in their original format - 12" vinyl records recorded mostly at 45 RPM (not 33 RPM as done in the USA).  The faster speed results in higher fidelity recordings as more surface area is devoted to the audio signal.  The sound is very distinctive to vinyl and differs from what you hear on the reissues in the CD format.  The overall sound has more body and depth, what some people refer to as 'texture'.

When the songs were reissued on CD, they were remastered and are physically different.  For example, "OK, This is the Pops" acquired stereophonic tricks with the speakers that some people call "nauseating".  The ending to "Performance" fades out at a different rate, "Twist" has a different length, and a few other details.  If you want to hear Tones on Tail as originally intended, you must buy this collection and hear it for yourself.
"Tones on Tail" began as a side project for Bauhaus guitarist Daniel Ash in 1981 as an outlet for ideas that didn't fit within the Bauhaus framework.  At first it was just toying with sonic ideas with the help of Bauhaus roadie Glenn Campling, and a drum machine.  Every so often a recording would be released.  After the demise of Bauhaus in 1983, drummer Kevin Haskins joined the lineup replacing the drum machine leading to a more rapid pace of song development, and wider array of sound effects.  In early 1984 the album "Pop" was released to much fanfare and was followed by a short tour in the UK and USA.  Unfortunately, the band broke up immediately following the tour as Daniel allegedly felt Glenn Campling let the attention get to his head.  Soon after, Daniel, Kevin, and Bauhaus bassist David J. recorded "Ball of Confusion" under the new band, "Love and Rockets".  The rest is history.
All records were "Made in England" and recorded at 45 RPM, unless otherwise noted.  Rating of the disc is in [brackets].  As you can see, wherever possible I have preserved the shrink wrap.

Shipping in the USA will be provided through the United States Post Office.  Most likely via Media Mail, but can vary depending on availability of packaging materials, time of year, etc.  Deliveries to AFO/FPO are excluded.
Shipping to locations outside the USA will be provided by the United States Post Office Priority Mail International service at buyer's expense.  The United States Post Office will convert to your local delivery service upon entering your country.  Buyer is responsible for all taxes, tariffs, duties, fees, and any other expense associated with delivering the item.
