If anyone has ever heard of Tony Joe White it's usually for the 1969 single "Polk Salad Annie." I loved it when I heard it as a kid, especially enjoying White's rumbling voice spitting out the lyrics. I'm embarrassed to say, that's all I knew about him until ten or so years ago. I should have realized he is, was a superb artist. (He passed away in 2018). When he joined the incredible record label, Yep Roc, he came back on my radar because I look through their rich catalog regularly. Analogue/Quality Records, the premier vinyl pressing folks in this country made this audiophile edition of his 1973 album. If you've never had a Quality Record, here's your chance. If I ever hesitate to pull the trigger on a reprint of any album, if I see that Quality is doing it, I immediately grab it. They are incredible records.
