Here is a nice copy of these tracks recorded in Germany for Polydor, when Bert Kaempfert decided they should be signed. Pictures are scans of the item for sale. The orange record label with the Polydor "scroll" design, indicates first issue.

Record made in Germany, sleeve made in England.

The first issue of this is a considerable rarity. Record Collector's Guide suggests a price of £125 for a mint copy of this.

For anyone not familiar with the material, tracks include the Harrison / Lennon instrumental "Cry For A Shadow".

The cover, which is made of very shiny card, not actually laminated, is in good condition. NOT torn or split, no writing or pen on it. Colour is fine - the glossy card seems not to go as yellow as raw card EP backs we might be familiar with - back is a creamy colour. Front is not quite as clean as it could be, but not advisable to tackle this, as it's not laminated, not waterproof! The cover is shaped / moulded to the shape of the record, and two of the corners have gotten bent at some time (top left and bottom right on the front). A little wear at the opening and around the edges.

The record has very nice label, as you can see in my pictures. Small handwritten name on A-side label. The playing surface looks nice and shiny, but playing surface has suffered a lot of visually noticeable stylus accidents. I have play-tested it - bad noise on side one for the first couple of rotations only. After that, rest of the side plays loud and clear, one does not hear any effect from the scratches. Music starts quietly on side 2, and scratches can be heard at the beginning. As the band come in, scratchy sounds become distant background. Second track also starts quietly, scratchy sounds clearly heard, then the situation improves as the track goes on. Music is heard loud and clear, except for first couple of rotations on side one, plus scratchy sounds as described.

Nice low start price. Half of the proceeds from sale will go to a local hospice for children, the charity whose shop I found the record in.
