If I Was A Mekon The ironic indie pop band Too Much Joy originally consisted of Jay Blumenfield (guitar and vocals), Sandy Smallens (bass), Tim Quirk (vocals) and Tommy Vinton (drums); later the group dropped Smallens and added William Wittman on bass and vocals. Although the group of musicians from Scarsdale, New York had the idea of forming a group as far back as 1981, (when they were in high school) Too Much Joy truly began to take shape following the band's 1987 college graduation, when they released the collection Green Eggs and Crack. Too Much Joy's other albums included 1988's Son of Sam I Am, 1991's Cereal Killers, 1992's Mutiny, 1996's Finally and 1999's Gods and Sods. ....
