Description
Here's a very rare LP record from 1957 featuring Mickey Mouse Club star Darlene Gillespie singing "Top Tunes of the '50s." Long considered the best singer on the Disney TV series, Darlene recorded several records for the Disneyland label, including the acclaimed Alice in Wonderland WDL record and was offered her own LP.
This record was released with two different covers to see which would sell best with the fans. This version plays up the TV angle with a TV screen series of photos down the side of the cover showing Darlene on the Mickey Mouse Club, including one shot with Tim Considine on the New Adventures of Spin and Marty and even with Annette Funicello in the very bottom photo.
Darlene sings a variety of hit 50s songs, including Elvis Presley's "Love Me Tender,"Fats Domino's "Butterfly," Tab Hunter's "Young Love," Tommy Sands' "Teen Age Crush," and Pat Boone's "Don't Forbid Me," among others. The music was arranged and supervised by Tutti Camarata

Condition of jackets and vinyl varies from fair to really nice, may have small scratches of scuffs but they do not appear that they will affect playing. Will probably need a light cleaning. Please examine all photos carefully as these are being sold as-is.
