Description
Most who are interested in this item will already be aware of the history behind it. For those who aren’t, that history is outlined below. However, it is important to note that this is one of a handful of initial copies that were signed and numbered by Tori and given to family and friends. What makes this extremely special is that it is numbered #2 by Tori herself (and signed as shown in the photo), and was received directly from Tori’s father at her request some three years ago (the circumstances surrounding this gift can and will be proven to the winning bidder).
The disc itself is in excellent condition – although I always felt it could do with a clean, I have left it exactly as received as I didn’t want to risk any damage to the disc which has been kept bagged and stored safely ever since. I have never played the disc so can’t comment on how it plays. It’s hard enough to find a standard copy of this record, let alone a signed and numbered initial pressing. This is an extremely reluctant sale but, as everyone will be aware, times are difficult. Enough said.
The record was recorded in response to a 1979 Baltimore competition and is backed with an early composition titled Walking With You. Tori’s very first professional recording under her birth-name, Myra Ellen Amos and accordingly pressed as an MEA Records release, this ultimately won her a citation from the Mayor! There is no reserve on this item.

NOTE: Only a very small number of this record was pressed, and it was never re-issued in any form. It seems that Tori's family split the costs of the pressing with a local band, so the band had X number of their 7" pressed and the same for Tori. It's estimated that - at highest - there will only have been 500 copies of this record pressed, and the number could actually be much lower. The 500-estimate is based on speculation that the parties involved would have gone for a total order of 1000 discs and that Tori's family would have gone halves. All extremely speculative.
It's just as likely the parties involved could have gone for a total order of 500 (an extremely common low-pressing run), in which case there could be significantly less than 250 of this disc in existence (the proportion paid for by Tori's family remains unknown, though it's fair to assume that as an unestablished 16 year-old, they would not have wanted as many discs pressed as an established local band). It's doubtful we'll ever know but one thing is for sure - there are few standard copies of this record in existence and even fewer that are signed and hand-numbered.
