Description
I am an avid, 30-year collector of Tori Amos merchandise. Follow me for more posts of extremely rare Tori Amos items.
This auction is for an authentic 1998 TEST PRESSING of Tori Amos’ fourth solo album, From the Choirgirl Hotel, a double LP by Atlantic Records. Both records are near-mint, kept safely stored in my personal collection since acquired in ’98.
There are NO visual or lyrical inserts. Despite being a rare and collectible test pressing, the audio is top-notch, as perfectly clear as the commercial pressing. The only difference are the white sleeves and labels. The white outer sleeves are original. This double LP was pressed at the old WEA Manufacturing facility in Lackawanna, PA. The original paper inner sleeves have been replaced with acid-free, master sleeves. There are a small group of tiny markings circled in one of the photos, otherwise absolutely pristine condition, and the play is unaffected by these marks during “She’s Your Cocaine” - visual blemish only.
Included as a BONUS, is a rare 12x12 promotional flat for the album’s release, with the Choirgirl Hotel album cover image on one side. The opposite side (“Tori Amos”) was affixed to a wall in a record store in the 90s hence the damage from the taped corners. I kept this 12x12 flat with the record to give it a visual ID.
