Description
Tower of Power ~ East Bay Grease
This is their first release. - pretty scarce and sought-after. On Bill
Graham¢s desirable label. San Francisco, SD 204
Released: 1970 Genre: Soul, funk, East Bay Grease Length: 41:35 Label: San Francisco/Atlantic
Producer: David Rubinson Country: US
The band was one of the early music groups to be signed by Bill Graham's Fillmore Records which released the LP. The term "East Bay Grease" is a genre of music featuring a "brass heavy funk-rock sound" and it was characteristic of the Oakland-style funk which Tower of Power helped to establish and further built upon throughout their career. Other East Bay Grease style bands include Cold Blood, Chicago, and Blood Sweat And Tears.
Condition: Jacket: Jackets not ratty or stained everywhere. There is general wear on jacket, such as corners, small ares on top left where paper parted, rubbing wear from the album inside, to jacket. I would say it's held up fairly well and still retains it's color.
Sleeve: The sleeve is generic. Vinyl: The vinyl is nice and shinny. Side B looks pristine. (no scratches, worn areas, dirt etc.. ) Side A has a very, very faint, light mark that is visible under bright light that shouldn't effect play. However this is vintage vinyl and I am not an expert on grading so please look at pics to evaluate it's condition for yourself . I will be happy to send you further picks upon your request to help you. If you have any questions please ask. If you see something I did wrong or my Information is incorrect PLEASE take the time to let me know, I would really appreciate it. :)
