*NOTE* An Ebay member messaged me about this record to inquire if it was a true original pressing or not. Let me clarify. I know this is not a modern reproduction. It came out of a collection with many other Rockabilly and Soul records of the period. The Ebay member was wondering if this could possibly be a 70s era reissue. That is possible, I really don't know how to tell definitively. I can't find many details about how to tell a reissue from the original in this particular case. I have seen photographic images of both the original and what I assume are modern reissues of this 45. On the reissue the dead wax area (area that contains the playout grooves after the music finishes) is very narrow, and the portion of the record containing music grooves is wider. On the original 45 the dead wax is MUCH wider (noticeably so). On the record I've listed, the dead wax is quite wide. Almost as wide as the label itself. When comparing to the photos of the original and the reproduction, from a visual inspection standpoint, this 45 looks very consistent with the original and not at all consistent with the modern reproduction. Also, I can't find any reference to which matrix numbers etched in the deadwax correspond to which pressing, but I'll post the numbers from this 45 here and maybe one of you can help me out. A-Side: "45-185 177" and B-Side: "45-186 177". Possibly someone out there with more knowledge of these numbers can educate me. Finally, in the interest of fairness to all I'm lowering the starting bid. I know you are all very intelligent about records and I want to give everyone a chance to make their own decision with regard to the origin of this particular record. This is an excellent record in any case, but I never want anyone to feel disappointed in their purchase so my goal is to provide all the information I have and let you make the call.
Very nice record! Mega rare rockabilly 45. VG-. Several light marks. One short scratch that I can feel. Lots of gloss. Plays great with some surface noise in a couple of spots. Absolutely no jumps or skips. Nice sound, very strong and loud!
Label has "10" written on the 'Give Me Lovin' side. Plain generic white sleeve.
One way you can tell this is original and not a reproduction is that the dead wax is much wider on the original than on the repro. Any other details please ask.
