Description

Traffic – Traffic - Island Records - Pink Island Black Circle Logo - 1968 + Stapled in Booklet

"Traffic" Traffics second album was originally released in 1968.

Island Records release no: ILPS 9081T. Stereo.

From what I can gather there were no mono releases of this album.

This is an original UK Island Records "Black Circle" logo. The first of the Pink Island Records Logos.

For those who collect the earliest pressings the matrix numbers are A 2 B v 5.

Gatefold sleeve with the original stapled in booklet which was removed on later pressings.

The record is pressed in heavyweight vinyl which wasn't the norm on later Island releases.

The record is not housed in the the original sleeve.

The Record Grading

I have classed this using the Record Collector Grading as "Very Good".

This record is not brand new or in mint condition so if that is what you are after then to avoid any disappointment please refrain from bidding if you prefer mint condition.

The reason for the "very good" grading.

The record looks in great condition, nice and clean. Under a light you can see some scratches on both sides.

Any crackles that are heard are normal and consistent with normal wear. You can hear crackles in the

quieter passages.

Please see the pictures of the cover. The cover has slight wear some light scuffing at the edges and some discoloring over the years.

A previous owner many years ago has written on the cover and the record labels (please see the pictures). It is annoying when someone does this

however apart from this the LP cover is in a great condition for it's age.

I use the Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide as below.

2.  MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be     Mint.

3.  EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

4.  VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

5.  GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

6.  FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

7.  POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

8.  BAD The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.

      Any Questions please ask.

      THANKS FOR LOOKING.
