Description
Here's a real classic for you, "The Traveling Wilburys: Volume 1", a great and surprisingly elusive vinyl LP. This one has all the classic jams from the top dogs on it - "Last Night", "Handle With Care", "The End of the Line". This band has all your favorite dudes in it, Tom Petty from the Heartbreakers, George Harrison from The Beatles and The Plastic Ono Band, Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne from The Idle Race, The Move and ELO and the Big "O" himself, Roy Orbison aka "The Orb" ("It's Over", "The Comedians", Blue Velvet soundtrack, cool soundalike songs like "Borderline" by Cheap Trick and "Oh, Diane" Fleetwood Mac)
Copy is in great shape - vinyl is lovely pristine EX condition, vinyl in NM++/EX-. (Sleeve has some slight, almost indetectable hint of shelfwear on the corner, cover is unscuffed). Original inner sleeve is of course included and is in nice VG+ shape.
Bid on this one, this supergroup kicks ass and I loved them since I was a kid. It's so awesome to think about the easy, fluid, creative confidence these guys gave each other and the fact that they obviously were overcome with personal and artistic respect for each other but still able to act like adults and be productive.
This album has all the best lyrics these guys ever wrote, "I'm so tired of being lonely/I still have some love to give", "I've been fobbed off and I've been fooled/I've been robbed and ridiculed", "Well it's all right, even if the sun don't shine/Well it's all right, we're going to the end of the line", "Reputation's changeable/Situation's tolerable/Baby, you're adorable/Handle me with care", "Last night, talkin' 'bout last night", "I'm glad to be here, happy to be alive/It don't matter if you're by my side/I'm satisfied".
I love every time Bob Dylan sings on this thing, it's like his parts on the Brian Wilson song "The Spirit Of Rock and Roll" where his 1988 voice just bursts into the thing and you are supposed to think it is funny and that it kicks ass, and it does.
I'm only selling this because I personally like the 80's Jeff Lynne sound on casette the best!
