Hello and welcome to my auction. I'm selling off a large part of my reocrd collection to raise funds.
This is a Genuine Limited edition 1999 Independiente records pressing of the 1999 Vinyl LP Album, 'The Man Who" by Travis - No Reserve. catalogue number: ISOM 9LP
The vinyl is in Ex-/VG+ condition..pretty good on the whole...
Sleeve is VG+ (see photos_) .
It consists of a single semi-matte sleeve with two discs: One is the album itself and the second is a bonus 12" with mixes of 'Writing to reach you' on. the album has a colour semi-gloss thin photocard inner and the 12" bonus disc has a simple paper inner. Both are nice weight Vinyl (not thin)
I've played the album about 4 -5 times not all the way through.and the bonus disc once and it has been kept in my collection since i got it new

  excellent surfaces on the album - apart from the usual small twizzled hairs drawn by static and a couple of fingerprints
  Angling around in reflected room light ; I can see a small 1/2 cm buff mark on track two of side A aswell as a couple of longer but very fine single hairline scratches.Side B has acouple of areas of sparse birdsnest/scuff scratches. but apart from that very clean.
  the bonus disc is immacualte i would say..
• Sleeve: Ex (I'd almost give this Ex+ but I'm being conservative).....very good.. bit of buffing on lower -left corner (see photos),but the others are clean.. spine very nice, tight and straight.Ring relief visible front and rear.. a few isolated mousefang pin marks on the rear near spine.A couple of short creases coming from edges and aperture nice and flat..minimal couple of spots of burring. Limited edition sticker still fully on front.
• Inner sleeve - very nice condition for both inners, a few mouse fang marks (about 4-5) on the rear top of the album inner.

This was the album that broke the band, at least in the UK, and they did pretty well in America too. It has some really good tracks on it, and tackles relatively taboo subjects such as depression and listlessness. I think its very affecting, its honest and quite initmate
it formed the basis of an antidote to the brash everything is okay kind of music in the 90's where you weren't allowed to be good to yourself and admit you felt a little less than okay. maybe there was some anxiety since we were headinginto a new millenium?

I'm starting this at £2.00 and with no reserve, this is going to give everyone a look in and hopefully increase the chances of an auction

Notes on record surface assessment

Please take your time to look at the photos below as I think most of the description is in them. Note: Due to the record being circular and the refractive nature of the grooves on the disc, it is actually pretty hard to photograph the surface fully..I've done my best; taking care to use fairly strong Halogen source and angling of the disc.
there are two types of aberrations...and these can generally be seen in two types of light..incidental light will show up more of the scratches which might affect playback quality, whilst direct light will show up more of the paper scuffing...that very light , almost superficial and generalised marking from two records being in proximity to each other in a record box (the action through the paper sleeve), and very often there's no way around this. this type of marking has no effect on the playback quality of the record.. I didn't really give the record a wipe over so any twizzled hair-like artefacts you might spot in the photos are hair-like artefacts; usually lint or fibres..what I will do is point out any marks or scratches in the description.

Grading

As a guideline to help you, I'll stick roughly to this grading system. where I show something like NM/VG- - it refers to Vinyl condition/Sleeve condition

Although i don't play the records to grade them, by and large they have been played only a few times, and i try to give them a grading based on a careful look.
(note: i don't believe in giving NM status - as this gives the impression that it has just left the shop, when I prefer to be slightly critical if anything)

• Mint Vinyl- unused unplayed still sealed/ sleeve - same
• Near mintVinyl - evidence of being removed and played but hardly noticeable
  - could pass for new/ Sleeve - maybe the slightest sign of handling if you really looked for it.
  
• Ex (and gradations thereof) - Vinyl - tiniest wear, maybe one or two light brush marks in vinyl under reflected daylight but you'd have to look for it - obviously only been played less than about 6 times (Ex-)/ Sleeve - very straight sleeve - maybe miniscule amount of buffing on corners only - no creasing or ringwear visible.
• VG (and gradations thereof) Vinyl - maybe one or two light brush marks - and light scratching - nothing that would diminish the audio playing/Sleeve- light buffing on corners , perhaps small amount of creasage in sleeve, light buff marks on edges - but nothing consistent.
• G (and gradations thereof) - more scratches in evidence, maybe a light scratch which can be seen without strong light, and especially without reflected light. speckle scratching - which would be evidence of enduring light abrasion - as if on inner sleeve. audio - although listenable - occasional crackles in evidence caused by physical profile of surface. probably been played at least 90 times. Sleeve - ringwear in evidence - maybe shabby edges and definitely some buffing maybe short corner tears in evidence. inner would prbably either be yellowed at edges and possibly torn slightly at corner.nothing though that would compromise the vinyl. (i missed out grading for moderate conditions as one only needs to know if its worth bidding on or not, i feel - none of my albums fall into the moderate or crap categories.)
• Cr (and gradations thereof) - vinyl - in advanced state of wear, scratches galore and advanced speckle scratching to the point where the needle would probably jump on occasion. - for completists and the curious mainly. would still play but listening would be pretty unpleasant Sleeve - falling apart at the seams - advanced ringwear and corners torn. maybe can see the vinyl edges through the sleeve. creasing or evidence of folding.

I'll ship this with a fluted stiffener and a quality 625 micron, side seamed record mailer with fragile and DO NOT BEND (in both English and your native language if outside English-speaking countries). I'm aware of the scam that is occurring where people are saying they have recevied the records broken and ask for a refund..i use the high quality packaging to avoid this.
I always obtain a certificate of postage and will remove the record from the sleeve to prevent any ringwear or abrasion.
