Artist: Cal Green Title: Trippin' With Cal Green Category / Genre: Jazz / Soul Jazz Label / Nr.: Mutt & Jeff Records MJ-001 Pressing: 1969 Original US Pressing Format: LP (33 RPM) Comments: "This album should be titled 'Monster' "... It says on the back of the cover of this really rare Los Angeles, CA indie label jazz gem ... true that!! In a way comparable to the end 60's Prestige recordings (like Boogaloo Jones, Melvin Sparks ...etc) but much rougher and funkier in sound. The highlight track "Trippin' " has been featured on the same titled Luv 'N' Haight Records compilation. Maybe the perfect combination of soul-jazz and independent label sound. This LP is much rarer than the 7"s by Cal Green on the same label.

Musicans:
Charles Kinard (aka Charles Kynard)(piano, organ), Billy Moore (drums, percussions), Tracy Wright (fender bass), Cal Green (guitar). Vinyl Condition: Visual grading: Only very few visible surface marks, scarcely audible. No major scratches or marks.
Audio grading: Background noise slightly audible here and there but maybe it will be better after a cleaning. Cover Condition: Usual signs of aging. Corners and seams slightly worn. Lower left seam beginning to split.
