Cover Grades: VG++ (Lots of peoples excellent) Nothing to say about it other then very mild wear. No writing, no splits, I just loath to call anything Near Mint these days. Record grades VG++ only because there are mild smears or very light scratches that are hard to see and one smear scratch across tracks 1 and 2 on side B. It is not near mint because of this. I use a 100 watt bulb to view records.
I can not find anyone selling a copy with the Matrix numbers ending in A3 B3. There is no mention from any source that I can find for this pressing. When you consider we've all seen A2 B2, this is a bit of a wonder. It was given to our customer that worked at the Radio station.

The Tripsichord Music Box was one of the many San Francisco bands managed and produced by self-styled psychedelic svengali Matthew Katz -- despite a slim body of recorded work that stands among the most atmospheric and cosmic to emerge from the Bay Area scene in the post-Summer of Love era, they are sadly best-known as one of the so-called "fake Grape" units unleashed on unsuspecting audiences after Katz lost control of his former protégés, the legendary Moby Grape. Originally dubbed the Ban, Tripsichord Music Box formed in Lompoc, California in 1963 -- the group was founded by singer/guitarist Tony McGuire, bassist Frank Straight, keyboardist Oliver McKinney, and drummer Randy Guzman (sometimes credited as Randy Gordon to avoid conflict due to his parents' management of the act). According to the book Acid, Fuzz & Flowers, the Ban signed to the Brent label to release their lone single, the garage rock stomper "Bye-Bye," splitting soon after when McGuire was drafted to serve in Vietnam; the remaining threesome then recruited singer/bassist David Zandonatti, with Straight moving to lead guitar. Rechristening themselves the Now, they relocated to Los Angeles, sharing Sunset Strip stages with local acts including the Seeds and the Strawberry Alarm Clock before signing to Milton Berle's Embassy label for the 1967 effort "I Want." The single attracted little attention, however, and the Now relocated to San Francisco. There they connected with Katz, who essentially discovered Jefferson Airplane along with Moby Grape -- Katz soon signed the band to his San Francisco Sound label, rechristening them the Tripsichord Music Box. In late 1967 the group recorded three tracks -- "You're the Woman," "It's No Good" and "The Family Song" -- later included on the Fifth Pipedream: The San Francisco Sound, Vol. 1 compilation. When Moby Grape severed ties to Katz, he laid claim to their name, forcing Tripsichord Music Box to play a series of live dates under the Moby Grape aegis -- the deception ultimately prompted McKinney to quit the band in 1969, with guitarist Bill Carr signing on in his place. Around this same time, Zandonatti's high school friend Ron McNeeley also began sitting in on vocals, and after a 1969 single, "Times and Seasons," Tripsichord dropped the "Music Box" from their name in time to cut their sole full-length, a self-titled cult classic issued in 1970. Their dark yet ethereal music found few takers, however, and the band relocated to Utah, splitting when Zandonatti and McNeely joined the Sons of Mosiah, a Mormon musical troupe managed by (GASP!) future U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch. Ironically, Guzman later played drums in a legitimate incarnation of Moby Grape. (EXCERPT FROM AN ONLINE BIO BY JASON ANKENY, ALL MUSIC GUIDE /ALLMUSIC.COM/) The PROMOTIONAL, RADIO STATION-, AUDITION OR DEMONSTRATION COPIES AND RELEASES (such as the one we have here) were often distributed among the radio stations before the record was released to the public, sometimes as much as four months ahead. These records are generally considered to be the "first among equals", which is to say the VERY FIRST generation and the VERY FIRST pressings of the particular title; a PROTOTYPE and the earliest known official pressing of the record.

We just got in 300 records from a guy that worked for a radio station in Albany back in the 60's and 70's. Almost everything we got in was promotional in nature and hard to find. Back in the day, you got two copies or more. One to play and one to keep. These were the keepers that went home with him. Bookmark us for this collection!

Overseas customers. We normally ship 1st class international. If you buy a lot of records and combine shipments, as long the order is below 4 pounds, we can ship this way. If the order is over 4 pounds, there may be a higher charge for Priority or Express. We can't ship orders over 4 pounds via 1st class international. If an item sells for more then $250.00, you must accept Express Mail so we can get a signature as proof of delivery for Paypal and Ebay. We can accept other forms of payment if you don't want to pay the Express Mail fees but email us ahead of time to confirm. Express Mail averages around $55.00 to most countries but use the chart on our auction to see what it is for your country. Vat Taxes or Custom fees are the responsibility of the customer.
Shipping addresses must be to confirmed addresses and what it says on Ebay/Paypal.com if paying by Paypal.com.
Shipping Materials. We normally use new materials (We do sometimes go green and recycle) to ship items. We pull the records out of the factory printed sleeve and place the record in a plain sleeve and then outside the cover to prevent seam splits. We work hard for your business, we know you love your music and we want it to get to you safely. IF A RECORD IS SEALED, WE SHIP IT STILL SEALED.

Payment via Paypal.com or other acceptable methods between seller and buyer. We do require payment within 72 hours of auction end. If you'd like to pay us some other way other then Paypal.com, please contact us but payment still needs to be sent within 72 hours of auction end.
We will combine shipping costs if you order more then one record or items if possible. We ship all items via USPS OR UPS/Fedex. Shipping and handling in the USA is calculated either by flat fee or estimated weight and is posted in our auctions. See our Ebay auction for your shipping fee.
Outside the USA / Canada / Overseas Shipping / Terms and conditions: If an item sells for more then $249.99, we require that order to ship via Express mail. We normally ship Express Air mail by estimated weight. We believe shipping Express is the safest way to get what you want. We highly recommend you take Express Shipping regardless. Items below $249.99 can be shipped via 1st class mail or Express Mail and we still recommend Express mail. If you'd like an item shipped in another fashion, please contact us ahead of time before you bid to discuss this. Express Airmail via the USPS is a great deal and normally only costs a few more dollars then Priority with lots of extra protection, speed and tracking information.
Handling Charge: If we charge a handling charge, it is to cover our packing materials, travel time to the post office (We drop everything on the counter for tracking purposes) and/or free insurance for your order.
Please give all items a chance to reach you once we post we've shipped your item. All items will post with a tracking number. We've seen overseas air items take about 4 days to 2 weeks with Express Air Mail to reach customers but we've also seen items get held up at customs and take 6 to 8 weeks also. Express is always the best way to ship something because it's recommended by the USPS to be the fastest way to receive your item.
Custom forms: We ship all items overseas with federal postal custom forms. All custom forms will contain the correct shipping information and selling price and be marked Merchandise, not gift.. Please don't ask us to adjust the selling price. We can't. Please check with your customs department if there is a fee or VAT tax for imported music items so there is no misunderstandings. You are responsible for ANY overseas fees you are charged by customs.

Grading and Codes:
Grading System: Cover/Record
Records are visually graded.
Mint, SS Sealed, SS, or Mint: Is either new or still sealed.
NM Near Mint: Has very minor difference then mint. We normally grade everything near mint, even if it's mint. It's better to undergrade then overgrade.
VG++, VG+: Has been played but not a lot. Maybe some light scuffs or scratches, but no major wear or defects. Cover may have some light ring wear but not distracting. Minor seam wear also. VG++,VG+ records should be good enough for almost any collector BUT THEY ARE NOT MINT.
VG Very good: Will have a decent amount of surface scratches and / or surface noise and / or pops & ticks, but will not be too distracting. Cover will have more wear.
G / Good: Still plays through but will not look pretty, may be noisy but should play all the way through.
F/P: Fair / Poor: I wouldn't play it but might be fun to have till a great copy comes along.
