Description

Tubby Hayes        Tubby The Tenor         mono    Epic LA 16023      "Sample Record" sticker on label and back cover

Tubby Hayes (ts), Clark Terry (t), Horace Parlan (p), Eddie Costa (vibes), George Duvivier (b) Dave Bailey (d) Recorded 1961

The record looks and plays VG++.  Plays clean and quiet.   No scratches.  On both sides, there is superficial scuffing and blemishing of vinyl that is not into the grooves and does not affect play.  Grooves do not show wear or damage.  Sticker on Side 2 label.

The cover is VG+ The front cover has moderate wear and ring wear. The back cover has moderate wear, fading and a sticker.  Dents and wear spots on the corners.  No split seams.   Spine is intact but slick is mis-positioned, so info is on edge of back cover.

Black lines that might be visible at bottom left and top right in pictures are due to photo cropping and not on cover.

Listen below to MP3 excerpts of beginning, middle and end of each side, recorded with a stereo cartridge. Playing record with a mono cartridge or playing in mono will sound better.

My highest grade is M- and I rarely grade 50s or 60s records M-. Records are graded visually using the Goldmine system. M-, VG++, VG+, VG, VG- etc. I play grade any potential problem areas.  I attempt to grade conservatively, listing all significant flaws. You will be satisfied.  No hassles.
