Karajan 9 Symphonies Beethoven Clothbound Box-Set

1962- Tulip 1st press SKL 101/8

Rare German first press vinyl 8LP box set released 1962 on "TULIP" stereo DEUTSCHE GRAMMOPHON GESELLSCHAFT (DGG) label with ALLE HERSTELLER and catalogue number SKL-101/8.

Vinyl has the 1962 date stamped into the trail-off. 

Early-style clothbound box as used only on the very first release- please note that the cloth edging has age-related discolouration and both interior & rear of box have foxing (please see photos). There is no damage to front cover.

Complete with booklet (dated 11/62)- please note there is some foxing to the first few & last pages.

Vinyl looks unplayed, as if it has never even been taken from its innersleeves.

Famous performances by Herbert von Karajan conducting the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra recorded here with true audiophile soundquality.
