Description
Turkish Jews from Constantinople always referred to themselves lovingly as "Stamboulees". Here we have the "Stamboul Quartette" a group of Sephardic immigrants who came to New York following the Turkish Italian war of 1912. Issac Angel was the Vocalist backed up by Morris Cazes, Menachem Tsafarti, and Louis Matalon. They recorded in New York between 1925 and 1930. This is Columbia #32003F "Missirli Cantossi" and "Yormedim Aalemde Vefa"
As a bonus, you are getting two exact copies of this record! One is in better shape than the other. One copy has a serious edge flake, but it is not into the grooves. The label is also discolored on one side. Both records have very little graying in the grooves, but have scuffs and scratches. One side has a sticker on the label. I played all four sides on my Victrola XVI. They play well and sound good, but with surface noise. I know you will be happy with these records.
