A Tab in the Ocean
Passport Records: PPSD-98017 Vinyl = VG+ Jacket = VG+ (has record store sticker)
Down to Earth (Gatefold) Passport Records: PPSD-98005 Vinyl = Ex Jacket = VG
M = Mint. Sealed in original shrink wrap. Some graders will grade open records as Mint, but my criteria is that once it's open and removed from the sleeve, it's no longer Mint.
NM or M- = Near Mint. The highest grade possible for an opened record. No visible scuffs/scratches. In many cases, the record has never been played or has been played only a couple times. Jacket has no shelf wear or damage of any kind.
EX = Excellent. Vinyl may have scuffs for removing and returning to sleeve, but no scratches. Label has slight evidence of wear but no writing and colors are not faded. Jacket has no seam splits, no creases, only minor chipping at edges/corners, minor ring-wear, no writing.
VG+ = Very Good+. Vinyl has a few surface scuffs or minor scratches or a little of both. Label shows some evidence of wear but still no writing. Jacket has no seam splits, but could have minor creasing or minor chipping at edges or bumped corners, possibly a cut-out (often used for promo records), some ring-wear, no writing.
VG = Very Good. Vinyl has numerous surface scuffs and/or very minor scratches. Normally the lowest grading for a record you plan to listen to a lot. Label shows some evidence of wear, no writing. Jacket has no seam splits, but has a few minor creases and possibly chipping at edges or bumped corners, moderate ring-wear, no writing.
VG- = Very Good-. Vinyl has numerous surface scuffs and minor scratches. Playable record but enough pops and sound flaws to interfere with listening. Generally a collection filler. Label shows evidence of wear and/or has small amount of writing. Jacket has small seam split or has numerous small creases and/or chipping at edges or bumped corners or small amount of writing, moderate ring-wear.
G = Good. Vinyl has numerous surface scuffs/scratches and probably skips or stops. Label shows a lot of wear and/or some writing. Jacket has seam split or numerous moderate creases and/or major chipping at edges and corners, water damage/stains, or major writing, or heavy ring-wear. Generally only added to collection because it's a rare title or a filler that you don't plan to listen to.
P = Poor. Not a collection-worthy record. Possibly good for a craft project, prop or some other non-playing or non-collecting purpose.
