Description

An original 1st stereo press of BOS on the UK Zonaphone label from 1970. Matrix 1U/3U - very 1st cut. Stampers 1G/1G - indicating that this pressing is from the 1st ever stamper used by EMI - not bad provenance! The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original laminated stereo cover. Also included is an original plastic bag warning inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In superb condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks per side - nothing heavy or sinister looking. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one deviation. Intros and inbetweens are really nice and quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. I don't think you'll be finding a better playing example than this copy. Whether its the fact that it's so well preserved, or the fact that it's so close to those original masters - the end result is some truly amazingly well produced audio. Don't think I've witnessed better from this title..By and large a really clean player which is absolutely essential on this title. Any background and it would be game-over in seconds!! The only one deviation I can pick-out is in Dragons Ear. There's a mark in that track and it causes a couple of clicks in one spot. Fairly innocuous and over very quickly. Given the extremely high standard delivered by 99.9% of this LP I'd imagine someone could over look this one minor issue. A beautiful player and the "1G" copy to boot..What could be better?
Cover (Ex-) In superb condition and the lamination has really helped protect this cover. Lovely shiny and clean front and back with just a couple of light creases on the frnot and a few thumbnail creases near the opening. precious little at all on the rear. Edge wear is very minor and the text on the spine is all still legible, with just a couple of minor stress creases.Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and remains a very fine and impressive example.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. A couple of blemishes. A couple of side splits have been taped up.
Lyric Insert (Vg+) seems relatively unaged. No major issues.
