U2  A day without me    7”single VINYL     On ISLAND  WIP 6630  1980

UK pressing  with white label rather than the standard stock copy 

came in black sleeve rather than pic sleeve

B side  Things to make and do 

U2 have sold some 150 Million albums worldwide - this single dates from way back towards the

start of their astonishing career - 

A day without me was their second single for Island  released in August 1980 and something of a taster

for their first album BOY. 

The B side is an non album track  Instrumental 

This single has a bit of a personal story 

In September 1980 U2 Played at the Fiesta Suite in Plymouth -  Back then I and two friends were in 

a shambolic local Plymouth Band  - Our Drummer Tommy somehow invited U2 back to his flat after the

gig and very soon after that joined U2's road crew - Wise move as our band was almost certainly doomed to failure.

whereas U2 were clearly going places .   

 

 

 Condition 

 

SLEEVE   EXCELLENT - there is a mild crease to lower right corner front sleeve  

VINYL - EXCELLENT - Played very few times
