Description
Pop by U2 is an album from 1997 that some love and others disliked. Regardless it cemented U2’s 1990s direction with experimental sounds and rhythm that is a hallmark of U2. Vinyl albums of this era are in limited supply and not quite as rare as the 2000’s releases such as ATYCLB (see my other sale), HowTo Dismantle An Atomic Bomb & NLOTH.
This copy was part of my collection of pristine vinyl discs. Due to acquisition of a better (?) mint copy this NM++ copy is for sale. Pop 12” for sale in any condition attracts attention from collectors and high prices. In an era when vinyl was out and CDs ruled this copy is rare.

This is the United States pressing. U2 10. It is a 2LP Gatefold version complete with inner artwork and double sided pictured sleeves. It is also complete with the (often missing or damaged) lyric sheet in silver foiled paper.
Album Cover : NM with no marks etc. Includes original “Limited Ed” sticker (yellow). Edges are in NM condition. No edge wear. No scuffing or disc impressions. Very clean, glossy and no odour.
Innercover of gatefold is mint. Very clean and glossy without wear. Edges of album sleeve openings are very clean and lack ageing associated with handling.NONE.
Inner Sleeve 1 &2 :Mint. Note that this is the US album and no copies with “naked Adam” were released. Limited copies of European pressings only had that rare feature.
Vinyl : NM Never played. Noscratches no defects. Clean.
SideA : U2 10-A-1 Silver foil label M
SideB : U2 10-B-1 Coloured M
SideC : U2 10–C-1 Silver foil label M
SideD : U2 10-D-1 Coloured M
Lyric Sheet : This piece is often missing from ebay sales and buyers should carefully check its inclusion.This copy comes with the lyric sheet. The sheet has these features :
- Side one is genuinely printed in a lighter ink than side two.
- One corner has light creasing (dog ear) – Refer to pic
THE LYRIC SHEET IS THE ONLY ISSUE CAUSING NM RATING. OTHERWISE THIS IS A MINT SET. 17 YEARS OLD.
- The foil remains in VG+ condition.
A common problem with 'Pop' is the extensive use of foil print which is marked by any handling and any light issue can mark it. This lyric sheet is rated as VG+ overall. No tears no damage etc.
This disc will be carefully packaged in a quality disc mailer to protect yourpurchase. Discs are not sent in sleeves to protect edges from slitting.
