MEGA RARE SOUTH AFRICAN 2 TRACK 7" ACETATE

Welcome to an extremely rare record auction.

This auction is for a GENUINE double sided 7" acetate featuring 2 tracks from U2's 1980 LP 'Boy'. The tracks on this acetate are 'I Will Follow' and 'Shadows And Tall Trees' (an exclusive B-Side only available on this release)!!!

This acetate was cut way back in 1980 by the RPM Record Co in South Africa for a possible single release that never happened (fans and collector's will know that this track was never issued commercially as a single in South Africa)!!

As a result this is without doubt one of the rarest U2 pressings ever auctioned on Ebay. It really is a great looking reference disc especially as it's housed with an exclusive sleeve insert that has the wording 'Return To Audio Dept - Not Approved' stamped on it!

This disc was part of a collection purchased from a man who had worked in the music industry overseas for many years during the 1970's & 80's. The record itself plays at 33RPM, is in EXCELLENT condition and is an RPM Company Sleeve with the stunning sleeve insert! There is no catalogue number on the label or on the run off groove although the number 253 is stamped on both the sleeve and label! This is without a doubt one of the rarest U2 acetates in existence. Not only as it's from way back in 1980 (the golden U2 era for rarities) but also because this two sided acetate with these tracks was never commercially issued in this format!! This is a totally ONE OFF pressing!!! The starting price of this auction reflects the rarity of the item.
