Description

For sale is a rare early pressing of Rattle and Hum by U2 from 1988 on the Island label.  The vinyl is clean and shiny, I played this start to finish and it looks and sounds as good as could be.  I rarely grade NM, this appeared unplayed to my eyes, and sounded perfect.  The matrix etchings have both the Specialty pressing logo (big S with r and c inside the loops of the S), and the big M with the strike line through it.  Side 4 has ST-IL-887168-B and We Love You ALK, the other sides have similar numbers, but no We Love You ALK.  The inner ring looks like it might have a stamp on two of the sides, but I can't make out the codes, pretty light stamp if it is in fact a stamp.  The jacket has some small dings along the spine and upper edge (see photos) and a cutout notch.  The back has a promo stamp and a hype sticker for the movie.  Specialty pressings are generally thought to be the best sounding to begin with, and the promo designation means this likely came off the press as one of the earliest stampings.  Grab this beauty while it lasts.
