That Backer helps keep the clear plastic sleeve flat ---- If a cover back is not shown, the disc may come in a generic clear plastic sleeve. These tend to sag while the discs are stored upright on our overstock storage shelves and may have Creases / Wrinkles / Folds pressed into them from storage. These PVC Sleeves after many years storage may leave patterns on the Record Surface.
