Description

The UB40 "Labour of Love II" LP vinyl album released in 1989 on DEP International and Virgin record labels is a highly sought-after collector's item. This first pressing features reggae music in English by the iconic band, with a high-fidelity sound on a 12" black vinyl record. The album comes in its original cardboard sleeve with a near-mint condition record grading and excellent sleeve grading, making it a valuable addition to any music lover's vinyl collection. The catalogue number is LPDEP 14, and the vinyl matrix numbers are LPDEP 14 A-3U-1-1 and LPDEP 14 B-3U-1-1 2.
The record is so clean it appears to have hardly ever been played. On a test play I found it perfect (see photos and video). Quite amazing for it being 37 years old! The central labels on both sides are excellent with no signs of any wear.
The inner sleeve is also in mint condition and I would have graded the outer sleeve as near mint if it weren't for the minor tear on the top edge. I've therefore listed the outer sleeve as 'very good plus' to be fair.
There is a hype sticker on the front of the outer sleeve promoting the inclusion of two popular tracks on the album.
Matrix numbers and other letters on the record's run-out zone are: On side one:

  • LPDEP 14 A-3U-1-1
  • Letter D at 5 o'clock position
  • SRZ at 9 o'clock position
On side two:
  • LPDEP 14 B-3U-1-12 (The last digit 1 in this etching has been crossed through as if entered in error) - see photo
  • Letter D at 2 o'clock position
  • SRZ at 7 o'clock position
