ORIGINALLY RELEASED in 1976, ‘No Heavy Petting’ was a landmark achievement for this highly respected and much loved British hard rock institution; a record made amidst deep-seated change in UFO’s professional ambitions and one that saw them expand their musical horizons by enlisting, for the first time, a keyboard player in Danny Peyronel (ex-Heavy Metal Kids).

Produced – as were its two predecessors – by Ten Years After bassist Leo Lyons, ‘NHP’ (UFO’s fifth studio outing) embraces powerful from-the-hip anthems plus material of a more melodic nature, with vocalist Phil Mogg showing a weight to his lyrics above & beyond the rabble-rousin’ norm. Essential hard rock gems such as ‘Natural Thing’ and ‘Can You Roll Her’ rub shoulders with reflective ballads like the beautifully arranged and expressively sung ‘Belladonna’, making this a record of genuine light & shade.

Tough to find original green label copies - most are the late seventies blue represses - and even harder to find them in decent shape.

This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.

Vinyl: Nice clean and shiny condition. One or two spindle mark on label but virtually no other signs of use. Grades as top MINT-!

Cover: Again, only light signs of use. Issued in a beautifully designed (by Hipgnosis) matt finish cover. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Spine is straight and uncrushed. Displays just a hint of storage wear. Grades as Ex+
