UFO - UFO 1
(Beacon BEAS 12 UK LP 1970)
This is a UK original LP pressing. It has a front laminated sleeve & comes with its original company plain paper inner sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has white & black "Beacon" labels. It has 1st press A-1/ B-1 matrix stampers. A rare early 1970's UK Hard Rock Prog LP.
Sleeve: There is a 2 cm tear on the rear sleeve opening at the centre area. This goes upward & is quite noticeable (see photo). There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear. There is a small piece of sticker residue on the front. This could be carefully removed fairly easily. There is some light, mild or very mild rubbing wear to the corner tips. VG condition
Vinyl: Firstly, there is a very mild warp. It only really notices when playing Side 2. It does not affect playback at all. Otherwise, there are some light, mild or very mild sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. The paper inner sleeve, over time, has left some light, mild or more moderate marks on the vinyl on some areas. These, again, can only be seen under a strong light. Overall, looks VG but because of the very mild warp, Good+ condition. The labels are in Excellent+ condition & show light or very mild spindle wear only. The company paper inner sleeve is in VG++ condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear, fading & creasing. There are no seam splits.
I have fully play tested this LP. It plays VG overall & VG+ in many places. There are a few light or mild intermittent clicks on the 1st track on Side 1 in two separate places. In both instances they do not last too long. There are also a few light intermittent clicks on the 2nd track on Side 1 too, and on two separate tracks on Side 2. Otherwise, there is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some quieter places.
