?Rod Evans & Ian Paice UK 1967 The Maze 7" Cateri Cateri & Easy Street MGM 1368
The Maze's last single, released on December 6th 1967 on MGM, was a ballad "Cateri Cateri". Rod Evans turned in an impressive performance, though Cateri can't have stood much chance of being a hit. The slightly more up tempo b-side "Easy Street" may have stood a better chance. ?
History; Jimmy Bond & The MI5 - MI5 then Maze - Alice Soundtech split Deep Purple. Eric Keene - Chris Banham & Ted Fletcher (Joe Meek Products) ~ Alice Soundtech while Rod Evans & Ian Paice went the Deep Purple route - Roger I believe went back to Germany - Rod ended up? in the States - heard the sad demise of Chris Banham recently - Ted started his own Joe Meek product line in West Country. ?RECORD = VG++, at the end of both sides at the very end of the music but more on the runoff is a tiny white substance mark (no idea what it is)
I have played both sides, nice sound, when it comes right to the end of the music and the stylus then makes a crackling noise as the song finishes
