Description

UK EMI HMV Stereo LP ASD 311, 1st gold/cream label, ED1, Beethoven’s Symphony No.7 in A major, Op.92, Sir Thomas Beecham conducting the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Sleeve is in wonderful condition, just a couple of light edge and thumb creases, some light ringwear and a little corner wear, with a tiny laminate chip on the front. The back is stunning, clean, white and bright, with superb uncreased flipbacks. Overall, the sleeve grades EX to EX+.

Vinyl is flat, no warp. Side 1 has a few very light hairlines not affecting audio and, on band three, a few small ‘under the groove’ manufacturing spots again not having any adverse effect on audio; side 2 has some more obvious light hairlines, but these again seem to have no adverse effect on super audio. There is the occasional bit of light background crackle and some regular but light dust clicks, and the vintage stereo sound from this EMI classic still astonishes, with its broad soundstage and intimate, involving sonic depth. Overall, the vinyl grades EX.
