Description
"Captain Man " by Jimmy Powell and the Five Dimensions (uncredited ).
Released on Mike Dallons' Youngblood label as a flip to "I can go down" in 1969.
Actually recorded 3 years earlier in 1966 as a possible release on Dallons Strike label but lay unissued until appearing (in Stereo form) on the flip to Powell "I can go down".
Perhaps one of the biggest UK Mod sounds in recent years ; thanks to a blistering Hammond workout throughout the track and Powells R&B vocals delivering a tough extremely danceable Mod sound.Top freakbeat with a soulful bluesy edge.
Record is in very close to Mint condition and in its original sleeve. Extremely difficult to source on British. This is the real deal.Flawless copy.
Recently compiled on the top British Mod tracks of all time list.
An absolute gem and must for any self respecting Mod club dj.
