Hello and welcome to one of my vinyl records auctions!!

VERY RARE ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING of this DECCA STEREO SET (three discs with insert and booklet inside purpose made folder).

BRITTEN - PETER GRIMES.

DECCA SXL 2150, SXL 2151 and SXL 2152, dated 1959.

ORIGINAL BLACK & SILVER, UNBOXED, GROOVED, WIDE BAND LABEL DESIGN.   ''ORIGINAL RECORDING'' around top of all labels.

The composer conducts the Chorus & Orchestra of the ROYAL OPERA HOUSE, COVENT GARDEN.

Singers include: OWEN BRANNIGAN, GERAINT EVANS, PETER PEARS, JAMES PEASE and others.

Each of the six sides have their matrix numbers (suffixes: 1E/2E/2E/2E/3D/2E) machine stamped in the run-off area.

RECORDS = At least EXCELLENT CONDITION (very close to NEAR MINT) throughout and the whole set is fascinating to listen to.

LABELS = EXCELLENT/NEAR MINT CONDITION.

INNER SLEEVES = EXCELLENT CONDITION, all original Stereo inner sleeves of the period.

BOOKLET = EXCELLENT/NEAR MINT CONDITION.  A very informative and attractive document.

INSERT = EXCELLENT CONDITION.

OUTER FOLDER = EXCELLENT CONDITION, remaining highly presentable.

THIS SET IS MARVELLOUS THROUGHOUT AND SUPERB FOR A SET THAT IS OVER 50 YEARS OLD.
